We all met at a skatepark in September 2019 in Edinburgh. Many of us had recently moved to the city for university, and we all shared a passion for skateboarding, so we instantly got on and started hanging out. The Instagram page initially started off just as a place for us to post our edits and our stupid memes. As we continued posting and hanging out, we realised we all wanted to make a difference in the skateboarding scene.

We wanted to see a change in the way Women, Queers, and Non-Binary folk were represented in the community. We decided to use the page to create this change for ourselves.

Skateboobs is dedicated to making the skateboarding community a welcoming space for people of all abilities, identities and ages. We wish to grow big enough create all-inclusive events around the UK, to get more young women skateboarding, and to make the community safer and more open to females, LGBTQIA+ Folk, and open the conversation around mental health and wellbeing within the skateboarding scene.

We released our first line of T-shirts in 2020, to raise money for the Breast Cancer awareness charity, Coppa Feel. We teamed up with local designers and Screenprinters, and produced the Tees entirely in line with our ethics.

As we continue to grow, we have many events, ideas and projects which will be released. We aim to be here for everyone in the skating community, to spread love, and to be the role models which we once needed.
